Da Vinci Workshop(Props)

The prop and modular kit work was built around two goals: visual richness and flexibility at scale.

Surfaces were developed in Substance Designer and Substance Painter using a layered workflow, with RGB Masking driving color variation across the kit. 2D Texture Arrays let individual props and modular pieces pull from a shared surface library, keeping the material count low without sacrificing variety. Where layered materials were too limiting — for hero props or pieces needing a specific surface read — standalone Unique Materials were authored separately.

Per-instance color variation across the kit is driven by Custom Primitive Data in Unreal Engine, so each prop and modular piece carries its own subtle tonal shift without needing extra material instances. The result is a prop/modular kit that reads as hand-crafted piece by piece, while staying efficient and visually consistent when repeated across the full environment.
